George Gavounas Director of Operations

George joined the Maplewood Investment team in 2025 following nearly eight years at Fidelity Investments. While at Fidelity, he gained broad experience that allows him to effectively support the financial professionals and investors who partner with Maplewood Investments to access diverse financial solutions and investing strategies.

More specifically, he has experience with:

• Investment advisor and broker/dealer licensing
• Managing process related to required forms, documentation, and reporting
• Transition services for trust, estate, and corporate accounts
• Facilitation of stock, option, and mutual fund trades on behalf of clients
• Creation of customized financial plans
• Serving clients to ensure they receive necessary resources and support for their financial and investment needs

George attended Oklahoma State University and Southern Methodist University, earning a bachelor’s in economics from SMU. He also holds FINRA Series 7 and 24 licenses.

Outside of the office, George is passionate about the sport of rugby. He played on the Dallas Harlequins Rugby Football Club one of the years the team made it to the national championship game, and he loves cheering on his niece, who is a talented player.
