Cynthia Besek Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Cynthia co-founded Maplewood Investments in 2000 with Dan Dooley.
Her responsibilities include:
- Strategic and operational leadership of the firm
- Directing processes that allow the firm’s team to deliver extraordinary client service
- Overall management of the firm with a focus on long-term business strategy
Maplewood Investments has long maintained active participation in the regulatory community, including Cynthia serving on the FINRA Business District 6 Conduct Committee from 2003 to 2006. She also is the former Chair of that Committee, and she served on the FINRA Advisory Council and Regional Nominating Committee.
Cynthia began her financial services career in 1987 as an Operational Assistant at Rotan Mosley, then a Commodity Trading Assistant at Kidder Peabody. In 1990, she joined May Financial Corporation and became a Principal, while also managing trading operations for the firm and its Correspondent Clearing Division.
Cynthia is a 1986 graduate of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, from which she earned a bachelor’s in finance.
